I will always be indebted to Douglas Adams, as Liff was originally h2g2life, a weekly comic on h2g2: The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy website. h2g2life ran from 2000 to 2003 and I made many fantastic friends while I was a regular at the site (under the name of ‘Wowbagger’). Douglas’ death occurred during the comic’s run.
